“My name is Renie Allen, Licensed Massage Therapist and owner of StillPoint Myofascial Release, located in Falmouth, Maine. Since having graduated from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy in Boulder, Colorado in 2001, I have been in private practice. I enjoy having the freedom and flexibility to tailor our MFR sessions around your individual needs. Having practiced traditional massage therapy for 5 years prior to discovering Myofascial Release, I understand the importance of finding a therapist that works for you. Someone you are comfortable with and can trust. Someone who listens to and understands both your words and your body.
“Having conquered several marathons and triathlons, I have a complete respect for life in motion. Whether a serious competitor or weekend warrior, we expect our bodies to do what we ask, when we ask it. Oftentimes our body starts talking back thru stiffness, pain and/or injury. Similar to replacing your running shoes or tuning your bike for optimal performance, it is of absolute importance to “tune up” and maintain our body. Whether you are an athlete or dealing with chronic pain, we are only given ONE BODY… it should be treated with care and respect.
“Having a young family at home, I appreciate the efforts necessary to maintain a balance of one’s self. Often times it is not easy to make the time we deserve for ourselves. I can honestly say MFR is one of the best gifts you can give yourself. If you allow it, you may seamlessly heal your body, calm your mind and lift your spirit!
“I continue to study directly under John F. Barnes as a way to enhance my life both personally and professionally. As I move forward through my own personal journey, I am able give more of what I learn to you. It is an honor to work together and share the gift of Myofascial Release.”
About Lisa DeFosse, LMT, Myofascial Release Practitioner:
- 2005 Graduate of the Spa Tech Institute Holistic Massage Program;
- Currently studies the John F. Barnes approach to Myofascial Release;
- Reiki I and Reiki II training;
- Advanced training in Cervical Massage and Hot Stone Therapy.
“In the years I have been practicing body work, I have instinctually blended energy work with therapeutic, deep tissue techniques. During this time, I had a 'knowing' that there must be something that combines corrective hands-on therapy and energy work all in one. When I was introduced to this work as a client at StillPoint Myofascial Release, I immediately knew that this was the 'something' I had been searching for. When I began studying the John F. Barnes approach to Myofascial Release, my realization had been validated.
“As I continue my own personal journey through Myofascial Release, I am able to incorporate MFR techniques into our therapeutic massage treatments. As each session is unique and exceptional, I have found the blend of energy work, massage and MFR to be profound. It allows for an incredibly tailored session to meet your individual needs; allowing the body to heal from the inside out.
“We are all on a journey to discover our full potential, and I am honored by my clients for allowing me to be part of theirs.”
